NeoCocoa is a small, award winning, chocolate confection wholesale manufacturer producing out of our commercial kitchen on the San Francisco Peninsula in Belmont. We have won national and international awards since 2008 and are known for our thin, crispy chocolate covered toffee brittles and wildflower honeycomb candy. We are currently seeking an assistant chocolatier to help us produce the chocolate portion of our candy confection line. This position works with the Lead Chocolatier.
A typical day on the confections team usually begins with tempering chocolate by machine to coat the toffee brittle or to enrobe honeycomb or marshmallow.
Throughout the day, you help keep the space tidy and organized, doing dishes as needed and making sure all surfaces are clean. You'll also spend some time in the week prepping materials and packaging confections for sale. Our team cares deeply about the process and takes pride in an end product that reflects the hard work and care of our chocolate makers and producers.
Benefits and pay range:
Pay range $21.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience), Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm. This is a full-time or part-time position of 20-40 hours per week for someone looking to stay on for 6 months and longer.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Chocolate coat full sheet pans of toffee brittle with the aid of commercial chocolate tempering machines (Selmi, ChocoVision and Savage Brothers).
- Enrobe honeycomb candy and marshmallow.
- Make signature unshelled chocolate truffles.
- Complete production tasks on schedule and to the highest standard set by management.
- Design new products and conduct recipe testing with the lead chocolatier.
- Ensure equipment and machinery are clean and in good working order.
- Maintain a tidy workstation.
- Hand wash your own dishes
- Help the candy-making and packaging departments as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of chocolate production or the passion to work with chocolate
- Know how to temper and enrobe
- Superior organization skills, passion for learning, desire to grow
- Strong and able-bodied - Ability to lift heavy objects, perform repetitive wrist-work, stand all day and move quickly
- Team-friendly attitude with ability to work independently as needed
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Interest in the chocolate making process and the desire to learn more
- Advanced knowledge of and passion for different types of chocolate
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently

CANDY MAKER/CONFECTIONER
